I will try for explain you the difference of S-bahn and U-bahn.
Look, S-Bahn in german is: Strassenbahn, that´s one train in the street, so it is the suburban train or trolley.
U-Bahn in german is: Unterbahn, it means is trian sub way, so this is the metro.
I hope I explain good, and you understand my english
